Photowalk

For this assignment, I got to walk around campus on a beautiful rainy day and take pictures of things that interested me. The water on everything as well as the soft cloudy skies made for really great pictures! 

My camera wouldn't focus completely on the spiderweb (it was so fine that the camera focused on the background) but I still really like this picture!
A chalk drawing right outside the digital art room. I think that it really sums up the purpose of school.
These flowers are on a plant right outside C building.

A table outside the tech room collected some cool droplets!
The same goes for this ordinary pole, made beautiful by the rain.
Where did this rose petal come from?
A sprinkler head right outside the digital art room.
Aaaaaand a fence.
This cool picture was just waiting to happen! As I walked out of the art room, I noticed something lying on the ground. When I walked over to take a closer look, I noticed how pretty the water made the leaves.
This lamp-post is right in the middle of the paseo.

Cartoon Yourself Assignment

For this assignment, I had to trace over a photo of myself and make it look like a cartoon. After I finished tracing and coloring myself, I did the background. The sky is a pink and yellow gradient, and the hills, clouds, and bars (or are they columns???) are painted and blended. The vines and flowers growing on the bars/columns are clipart from the internet. I really enjoyed this project as it was fun and easy, and I was able to be more creative with it than other projects with stricter guidelines.

Disproportionate Photo

This was such a fun project! I got to use my imagination to think of a cool-looking scene. I was determined to have tiny people in it, and originally I wanted to do people in the grass with bugs looming over them, but I couldn't find a picture of grass with the right perspective. So.... here is the next best thing I could think of. It was pretty simple to add people into the photo of a fish tank, and then I added the pencil for a better size reference. If you look really closely, you can see a kitten staring longingly at the tank.

Picasso-esque Cubist Portrait

For this project, I had to create a cubist portrait using multiple perspectives. It took quite a while to finish, because I had to find photos with the perspective I needed and I had to position them correctly. The squares in the background were inspired by Piet Mondrian's paintings, because for some reason they remind me of cubism (perhaps because they are squares).
