Albrecht Durer

Image
For the Albrecht Durer assignment, I had to create a piece of art in the style of Durer. I found a picture of an animal and edited it in photoshop so that it was black and white and looked like it was carved. Then I found a background that looked like wood grain, so the image would appear carved into wood. This project took me no more than 10 minutes, because I didn't have to draw anything.

Edward Gorey Asssignment

Image
For this assignment, I had to create my own addition to Edward Gorey's "Ghastlycrumb Tinies". I found Gorey's alphabet book of children's deaths to be funny, yet disturbing. The concept of the project was funny, but I didn't like doing it because the result had to be creepy, and I don't like that. If you look closely, you can see a book following my fall off the cliff. This is because I would have fallen off the cliff because I was reading and walked right off. To create this project, I used the cookie cutter tool in Photoshop Elements and made the tree, the birds, the person's hair, and the banner.

Celebrity Coloring Page

Image
For this project, I had to make a coloring book page of a celebrity, and I chose Emma Watson. This was a very easy project, because I only had to do the contour, not the coloring. The only tricky part was adding in the text; I had to get help to do that.

Cartoon Yourself Assignment

Image
For this assignment, I had to trace over a photo of myself and make it look like a cartoon. After I finished tracing and coloring myself, I did the background. The sky is a pink and yellow gradient, and the hills, clouds, and bars (or are they columns???) are painted and blended. The vines and flowers growing on the bars/columns are clipart from the internet. I really enjoyed this project as it was fun and easy, and I was able to be more creative with it than other projects with stricter guidelines.

The Scream Part 2

Image
For the second part of "The Scream" project, I had to photoshop my face onto my painting! I took a photo of my face in photo booth, cut it out, and blended it into the painting. This part of the project was really easy and it only took me about 5 minutes, while the first part of the project took me a couple days.

The Scream Part 1

Image
For this assignment I had to create a cartoon version of "The Scream", by Edvard Munch. In photoshop elements 10, I painted over the original painting, using the colors as a reference.

Mona Lisa Project

Image
For this project, I had to take Leonardo Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" and use it to make a colored contour drawing. First, I did the black lines, then the colors, then the background, then the shading. What I changed: *Color scheme: cool colors (I used blues and grays instead of the original yellows and browns) * Different outfit (robe and shirt instead of blouse) * Made face skinnier and added eyebrows, also added moon symbol on forehead * Changed hair (made it straight instead of wavy) *Different background (mountains) -
