Hybrid Character

Image
For this hybrid character, I had to create a mashup of different cartoon characters and blend their body parts seamlessly with one another. I chose to create a hybrid between Garfield, Big Nate, and Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes because I loved to read (and still love to read) all of those cartoons. The head and tail are from Garfield, the body from Big Nate, and the spiky yellow hair from Calvin. I then put the hybrid onto a city street background and added shadows to make it blend better into the scene.

Colorized Drawing

Image
For this project, I had to draw some line art, scan it onto my computer, and color it in Photoshop. I did a simple drawing of a cupcake and colored it in Photoshop using colors from a photo. This project was fairly easy, and it was fun to color in my drawing.

Create a GIF

Image
First of all, I have to say that this project was super hard! I was crossing my fingers as I dragged the GIF into this post because I wasn't sure it would work. I had a bit of confusion with the animation part, but I eventually figured it out after much frustration and trial and error. Overall, I like how the GIF turned out, and although it isn't extremely smooth, I am really proud of making something that moves. In the future, I will try this again and hopefully get better at it :)

Panoramic Image

Image
For this assignment, I had to take a bunch of photos and string them together to look like a panorama. The images here were taken on a snowboarding trip to Brian Head, Utah. I took a bunch of photos in a row, trying to capture the whole scene, and then I used Photoshop to fuse them into the panorama-like image that you see here.

30 Day Photo Challenge #2

Image
The instructions for the 30 Day Photo Challenge were to take 30 photos that related to the 30 prompts given. This is not the first 30 Day Photo Challenge I have done, so be sure to check out my first challenge from a couple of months ago. I'm doing something new with this one- I'm adding a short explanation/random comment after each photo to make the post a bit more interesting. Enjoy! Day 1: Favorite Food I really, really love oatmeal, but oatmeal looks like gross gray mush; instead, I took a photo of some home-made granola (because it's made of oats) fresh out of the oven. Day 2: Smile Here is a picture of my mom, because I could not get my brother to stay still and make a nice face (he kept on sticking out his tongue). Day 3: Happiness A smiley (drawn by yours truly). Day 4: Leaves These are the leaves from a pretty-looking vine in my backyard. It's pretty old but hasn't grown that fast. Day 5: Morning Sky Dang, it was cold when I wen...
