Creative Blurring

For the creative blurring assignment, I had to find a picture and blur out the background. I found a picture of sunflowers, and made a separate layer with a copy of the sunflower in front, and then I applied a blur filter to the background. Overall, I am pleased with how it turned out and may use this technique to edit photos in the future.

This was a really fun and easy assignment that required me to use Photoshop CS5 to put an image inside text. I chose to do the word summer with a summer beach scene inside it. Following instructions from online, I created a clipping mask on the image to make it fit perfectly inside the letters. Overall, I think that it looks really cool, and it's great that it was so easy!

Street Art Piece in Sketchbook Pro

For the Street Art assignment, I had to create a piece in Sketchbook Pro that looked like spray-painted street art. This was my first time using Sketchbook Pro, and it was fairly easy to use and had a lot more tools than ArtRage. For my piece, I chose to do two shadowy cats on a brick wall. I found a picture of a wall on the internet, and then I painted the cats onto it. I really like the result because I think it looks a lot like spray paint.

For this project, I chose a picture of a person whose face needed a little bit of "retouching". Then , in Photoshop, I used a combination of blurring, blending, and coloring to smooth out the acne on the person's face.
