Puzzle Face

Image
Hmmmmm...... what a weird puzzle.......... ???? The instructions for this assignment told me to use parts of a face and make the face look like it is made of puzzle pieces. This actually took parts from two pictures-- one with my brother Julian holding his hand in front of his face, and one taken right after he put his hand down. I took pieces from the latter, gave them borders, and put them on this face to create this strange and disproportionate puzzle.

Emotion Portraits

Image
So, for this project, I had to take a series of portrait pictures, each representing different emotions. For lack of a better model, I had my brother Julian pose for me, but he only did it on the condition that he got to choose the emotions and make whatever faces he wanted. So here are the emotions he chose to do: 1. Sadness? 2. Confusion/Surprise 3. Happiness? 4. He called this one "Surprised Monkey" 5. This could be anger.... or maybe he's hangry.

Color Focus on Black and White Photo

Image
For this project, I used a photo of these pretty pink flowers I took while I was on a walk around my neighborhood. I first converted it to black and white, and then put the black and white image over the color image. It was simple then to erase parts of the black and white layer to let the salmon color show through, making the flowers really pop.

Self With Former Self

Image
For this assignment, I had to make it look like a current version of myself and a past version of myself were taking a picture together at the same time. I found an old picture of myself, and then took a picture of myself in Photo Booth and put it into the picture. I then had to adjust the colors of the skin tones to try and make them match. It's not perfect, but I think it's still pretty cool>

Repetition Portrait

Image
Hahaha this is so creepy! For this project, I took a few photos of myself and repeated different parts of my body like my hands, eyes, and lips to create a really weird and creepy portrait! In the background I repeated some sunflowers to add to the repetition theme.

Zombify Yourself

Image
For this project, I had to use Photoshop CS5 to make a picture of myself look like a zombie. I used a picture of cracked dirt to add texture to my face, and then I used rust spots to look like gaping holes. After adjusting the colors and opacity, I used a paintbrush on low opacity to make my eyes look milky and creepy. This was really fun to do, and easy, too!

Celebrity Photobomb

Image
For this project, I had to put a celebrity into a picture I took to make it seem like they were actually there! I found a photo of Taylor Swift (don't ask why, I don't even like her) and made it seem like she was sitting on a bench with me, my brother, and our neighbors. I added some shadows to blend her into the picture better, and since she was inappropriately dressed for the cold weather outside, I helped her out and gave her a fuzzy black beanie.

Contour/Collage Portrait

Image
For this project, I had to take a picture of myself and fill up the space around my face with pictures and contour lines. After taking a picture of myself in photo booth, I decided to theme my border objects as representing the 4 seasons, each corner is a different season. After putting together the border, I used different colors to do contour lines on most of the objects, resulting in a cool-looking, quirky collage.

Photoshop Makeover

Image
I got a free makeover!!! But not in real life, in Photoshop. I pulled up a picture of myself and drew all over it, adding eyeliner, blush, and lipstick. I wanted to see what I would look like with braces so I added some on, and I also darkened the color of my hair and eyes. Although I think that I look a little bit creepy, it was really fun to give myself a makeover and I will probably do this to pictures of my friends to make fun of them.

Cartoon Head on Regular Body

Image
As you can see, this assignment required me to put a cartoon head on a regular body. I took a picture of myself in Photo Booth, and then I separately drew a cartoon head and colored it. I then put the cartoon head onto my body, to create this mash-up of cartoon and reality.
